FAQ

This section includes answers to questions that you may have in your search for a psychologist.

Q: Who will answer my phone call or email?

A: I will respond to your phone call or email within 24
hours.

Q: What should I expect in my first session?

A: The first session is 60 minutes in length. During this
time, we will talk about your reason for coming to
therapy and problems that you are having. At the
end of the session, we will set goals and make a
plan for therapy.

Q: How long are the subsequent sessions?

A: After the first sessions, all sessions are 45 minutes in
length.

Q: How often do I have to come for therapy?

A: Most patients attend therapy sessions weekly.
However, you may opt to attend therapy bi-weekly.
As symptoms decrease and you feel better, we can
discuss the option of maintenance sessions once a
month as needed.

Q: How long will I need to be in therapy?

A: The length of therapy depends on the presenting
problem. This can be discussed in the first session.

Q: Who will know what I talk about?

A: The information that you share with me is confidential
according to the state law and ethics of psychology.
Pertinent information will only be released either by
your consent or by the Pennsylvania Law which will be
discussed in your first session.

Q: What if I think I need medication?

A: I am a licensed psychologist who is not able to
prescribe medication. However, I could provide you
with a referral to a psychiatrist or consult with your
primary physician about psychotropic medication.
